Hi, there,
I’m Liu Feipeng, a Software Engineer living at Singapore.
About roman10.net
roman10 is named after my favourite football star, Juan Roman Riquelme. 10 is his number in Argentina national football team.
I used to own roman10.com, but I discontinued the website after graduation from university. About 1 and a half years later, I decided to start writing again. And it’s completely technical stuff this time.
About Me and Software Dev
The time that I entered my first C program and see it prints out “hello world!” on a computer screen, I know I’m going to be a Software Engineer. The feeling of having your thoughts or ideas expressed and shown so quick is just fantastic!
I was about to go to college then. I went to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, and spent most of my free time reading, writing, and studying computing stuff.
After graduation, I joined a small company as a Software Engineer. 10 months later, I was promoted as a team leader. 16 months later, I joined a start-up company as the first full-time emplyee. Meanwhile, I decided to further my study by doing a part-time master at Computer Science shcool of National University of Singapore. Another one year later, I resigned from the start-up and started working as a Research Assistant at Information Systems Research Lab 1 of National University of Singapore under a one-year contract.
I’ve been working on a lot of different platforms, technologies, and lauguages. You can refer my resume here for more information. My current interests are Multimedia Applications and Systems, and Mobile Applications. I’m working on AndZop (an Android based video player capable of selectively decoding videos) and Andcache (a client side caching system working on both Linux Desktop and Android). I’m also developing a video converter for Android when I have some free time.
About Me and Other Stuff
Besides being a bit crazy and absessed about software development, I like playing football and basketball. Actaully, I dreamed of becoming of a professional football player when I was a child.
I am about to start learning photography. Partly due to the comptutational photography course I had in my master course (it is fun), and partly because I want to pull myself out of programming from time to time. I personally think I’m a bit geeky, but I don’t want to become a complete geek.
Hope you can find something useful from the website, and you can reach me by liuf0005@gmail.com
